In 1961 the team was moved to the city of Tampico in Tamaulipas. After a short stint there they were relocated back to San Luis Potosi in late
1966, however this time they started out in the third division. The nickname of the team was changed to "Auriazules" and under the helm of Jesús Ontiveros, debuted on July 11, 1967 in the third division.

The result of the good work of Mendoza, cost-competitive in a stock that reached the Cup final was a Sunday in March 1969 when the Plan of San Luis spent his first football fiesta. And the team responded with their first championship win andalusia Cuautitlán by three goals to one. With the conquest of the League and Cup titles, the Club became champion of champions of the Third. But without doubt the best thing was the immediate promotion to the division.

The highlight of this team coming into the 1971 season, when Auriazules became champions of the Second Division and were therefore deserving to promotion to the First. For the 1972/73 campaign is the directive to renew the contract Cheix. But before the end of the season was brought to the Argentinian Enrique Alvarez Vega. Meanwhile, in the 1972-73 season of the Third Division Pumas emerge from the Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi. The rise of these Pumitas was dizzying for 1973-74 and participated in a promotional league and won promotion to the second pass. As the San Luis came to the bottom in the First. His technical Enrique Vega Alvarez had health problems and resigned. Coach Juan Eduardo Hoober, came to remove and reinforcements as Charrúa scorer Luis "Loco" Villalba, the team managed to avoid relegation. For
1973-74 the team changed its nickname. Now the Saints, were reinforced with former crack Uruguayan Roberto Matosas. But in the second round would acabóse. Hooberg tiraría the towel and an old acquaintance, Hugo Cheix, it would relieve. In short it was a bad season. In the end the team was not technical and Don Arturo Mendoza was launched on an adventure to save the San Luis and appointed a committee formed by the emerging goalkeeper Javier "Gato" Vargas, Roberto Matosas and Marco Antonio Martínez, who had little power of decision . At the end of the competition was located in San Luis last place with 21 points. Laguna had been up, but indicated that the regulation should be played not by a fall league. In one way, the tie Auriazules goals to nil at home, in the back, with goals from Carlos Miguel and Eloir Perucci Micco, of Torreon defeated 2-0 at San Luis. But there is no evil that blows nobody any good and while the fans Potosina lamented the decline of San Luis, while celebrated the rise of the Pumas UASLP, who came to the full circuit invitation extended to the number of competitors to 20 . The team changed its name because the Club Universidad Nacional demanded seniority rights. And from that time called Puppies Atletico Potosina. Then Angel Zubieta was hired as coach for the debut of the campaign, 1974-75. At the end of the campaign to shore and were not consuming the rise, but the table was set for the 1975-76 season and finally the 18 July 1976, the San Luis Santos got what was his second ascent andalusia Maximum circuit.
1981-82 for the fair, the Cubs again had a big competition. Alberto Guerra is entrenched in its technical aspect of winning and prestige. Reinforcements arrived in this campaign a reputation as the fearsome Chilean striker Osvaldo Castro "Pata Bendita", besides the former national team and Carlos Gomez Charrúa Lorenzo Unanue. The 1983-84 season was problematic for the team. Suddenly began to run the version of the club, which was donated by Miguel Valladares to the city through the council, would be sold by the government Potosina. The council reversed, but determined that no longer sustain the team, which was headed by a directive George Matouk, who hired Jorge Ortega as a coach. The team fell into mediocrity and miracle prevented the fall after the penultimate place in the table with 30 points, above the Union declined Tanners. The specter of falling again hang over the Cubs, but fortunately there was more bad team, the Zacatepec, which was loaded with the red lantern and fell. The Cubs were flying to the Second Division, but a stroke of luck came in as relief for the two campaigns was abolished following the descent. Despite the bad omens, the team raised for 1986-87. And this was because there was change of leader. The council gave the award to Gustavo Palomares, a businessman who set the technical direction of Jose Camacho, a former player of San Luis. But the pitcher is going to water and for the year 1988-89, the state government intervened andalusia team for a debit of the Directive with state authorities. This caused the Femexfut intervene and punish the team. Entry forbidden to play in the Plan of San Luis. Then the team played for eight dates in the municipal Celaya. Were directly accounted for only 22 points, 26 of Atlas penultimate in the table.
Playing in the Second Division and with club faceing financial crisis The club Folded once againg, their best men had been sold. But that would be another blow to die alone and not as enthusiastic mood of the people: The new owner, Mauricio Hernandez, the team sold to entrepreneurs of Tampico. The club had a good performance in the campaign, was a campus that is acceptable to put the league. But it was officially Tampico. But San Luis Potosi state was already a futbolero, so another group of people joined another project. But he had to open the gap again and the first set due to compete in the Third Division. Input picked the name of his predecessors, Santos de San Luis. Although the team is not highlighted in the 1991-92 campaign for the Third, the enthusiasm was sparked by a flurry of good players potosinos as Carlos Arreola, Enrique Lopez Mireles, Jacobo Alonso and Isaiah Romero. For the 1993-94 season, Payan Celaya won the franchise's second division and with all staff and hired as a coach Jose Camacho andalusia potosino. But there were differences between technical and leader and the second preferred to leave the post vacant. So Payan hired in July "Fanta" Valadez. In the 1994-95 competition, the Second Division was transformed into First "A". Then the leadership team brought to the "Loco" Vincent Casillas for control technician. However, all auriazul came over Casillas and soon unless he paid up the pieces. Short arrived tournaments and San Luis struggled to stay on the circuit. In the Winter 96 ranked eighth in the table with 24 units and 97 were in the Summer thirteenth with 17 points. Before starting Invierno97, Jacobo Payan again threw in the towel and declared that if the state government not to intervene, football away in San Luis. And the government responded to its citizens as governor Horacio Sanchez Unzueta came to the rescue team and transferred to Juan Arvizu and Juan Autrique Gomez entrepreneurs solvents. In the summer 98, the Saints were trained by Pedro Araya, potosino the idol, and he made a more acceptable form and debuting players. For the winter, Arvizu teamed up with Jacobo Payan, who returned to the football scene and had already secured a new franchise Second Division. In this new team was called Atlético San Luis and wanted to play in the capital Potosina and Plan of San Luis, but slowed their Autrique impetus. The club was led by Jose Camacho and had to play in Rioverde. But Payan won the Federation to authorize the driving range of Alfonso Lastras, already beginning to build. The idea Basically, the team's recent history began when the Group Televisa decides to buy the franchise because the team had trouble sporting and economic resources were no longer sufficient. Then they looked for an institution which could be sports exchanges and above all, to overcome the club in an integrated manner. Subsequently contact with people of Club America and a partnership is achieved. The club no longer americanista with a subsidiary in the Primera Division A, as his team, the Hawks had dropped to Querétaro Second Division. As I needed a new place in the province for many active players from the club. Both directives make contact and are interested in the project. Signing a contract for six months with a promise of sale if the results were positive. They reinforce the team, players emerged from the quarry americanista and foreign players with experience and quality for the time had no place in the Club America.
